The Olsen Lake Eyre Penthouse

The Art Series Hotel Group showcases important Australian art through new and exciting boutique hotels dedicated and named after individual artists. John Olsen, a leading contemporary Australian artist, is the inspiration behind this particular hotel in South Yarra, Victoria. Original artworks hang in the main foyer, public corridors and each hotel room with the interior design created to specifically reflect the work of the artist.

The Lake Eyre rooftop penthouse is situated on the upper most roof level of the 15 storey tower at The Olsen hotel. The newly created upper storey accommodation was made possible by careful consideration of existing plant equipment relocation with no interruption to continuous live hotel operations and existing structural limitations.

The penthouse envelope is setback from the predominant building tower form by the use of perimeter external terraces and floor to ceiling operable glazed facades. The penthouse offers unobstructed sweeping views of Port Philip Bay, Chapel Street, distant Dandenong Ranges and the Melbourne CBD skyline.
